Everything on this page is free and needs no account and no key. Each entry says what you get, the parameters it takes, the formats it answers in, where the data comes from and what its terms let you do with it.
No prices. Our end-of-day prices are licensed for display on our own pages, so no export, feed or connector answer carries a price, a market cap or a move. Each provider and its terms are on the data sources page.
Exports
Every CSV and Excel file ends with retrieved_utc and source columns, so a file opened months later still says when it was made and what it came from. A JSON answer says whether it was cut short.
13F fund holdings
/api/export/whale-holdings
What you get
Up to 25 of the largest positions in the latest 13F of each fund we track, one row per holding, with its weight, value, share count and quarter-on-quarter action.
Parameters
format: csv or json. CSV unless you ask for JSON.
fund: a fund slug, such as berkshire-hathaway. One fund only. The slugs are in the /whales page addresses.
ticker: a ticker, such as AAPL. Only rows for that stock.
SEC Form 13F filings, the latest against the one before.
Licence
Public domain US government records. Attribution is appreciated, not required.
How fresh
Rebuilt every 6 hours; answers are cached 30 minutes.
Form 4 insider trades
/api/export/insiders
What you get
Open-market purchases and sales reported on Form 4 in the last 45 days for the companies in our insider feed, each with the insider, title, shares, price, value, trade date, filing date, the 10b5-1 plan box and a link to the filing.
Public domain US government records. Attribution is appreciated, not required.

Fiscal-year financial statements
/api/export/financials
What you get
One row per fiscal year: revenue, net income, diluted EPS, operating cash flow, capital spending, free cash flow, total assets and liabilities, equity and cash. A line the company does not report is an empty cell, never a zero.
Parameters
t: a ticker, required. Answers 404 when the ticker is not an SEC registrant or files no annual XBRL facts, and says which.
The company’s own XBRL facts, from SEC companyfacts, with its CIK in a source column.
Licence
Public domain US government records. Attribution is appreciated, not required.
How fresh
Read when asked and cached 6 hours.
FINRA short interest
/api/export/short-interest
What you get
The latest consolidated short interest for every exchange-listed stock: shares short, the prior settlement, the change, average daily volume and days to cover computed from the two, with the settlement date on every row.
Built from the earnings calendar dataset, which a scheduled job rebuilds every 6 hours.
Feeds
Atom feeds of new disclosures, the newest 100 entries each, newest first and unranked. Each entry names the trade date, the filing date and the lag between them, and links the official document. Cached for an hour. More on the feeds page.
Both kinds together: congressional trade reports and SEC Form 4 insider trades.
Source
House and Senate reports as compiled by the open-source Congress Trading Monitor, and SEC EDGAR.
Licence
Form 4 entries are public domain. The congressional compilation’s own licence has not been reviewed yet, so each entry links the official report to read and cite.
Open-market insider purchases and sales from SEC Form 4 only.
Source
SEC EDGAR.
Licence
Public domain US government records.
The MCP connector
For an AI assistant: add https://stocktools.ai/api/mcp as a custom connector. It is a stateless Model Context Protocol server over Streamable HTTP: each POST carries one JSON-RPC message and gets a JSON reply. Every answer includes its sources, an as-of date and a link to the page here that shows the same thing. About 120 calls a minute from one address. It returns no prices, no FINRA data and no congressional trades, for the reasons on the connector page, along with the setup for each assistant.

Using the data
Cite the filing or the provider each row names, and the date it carries. Where a licence above asks for something, such as FINRA's rule that its data is not for redistribution, it applies to what you download. None of this is investment advice: the exports are records of what was filed and published, not recommendations, and an amended filing replaces the one it amends. Something missing or broken? Tell us.
