How it works

Enter what you paid, what you sold (or plan to sell) for, and how many dollars you put in. The calculator derives your units (invested ÷ buy price), applies the trading fee on both the buy and the sell, and returns your net dollar profit, your return percentage after fees, and the break-even sell price you need just to cover costs. Everything is pre-tax.

FAQ

How do I calculate crypto profit?

Profit = (sell price − buy price) × units held, minus fees. As a percentage, it is (sell ÷ buy − 1) × 100 before fees. Enter your buy price, sell price, and how much you put in, and the calculator does both.

How are fees applied?

This tool charges the fee percentage on both the buy and the sell (most exchanges charge per side). The fee reduces your net profit and raises the break-even price you need to sell at just to cover costs.

Can I enter a dollar amount instead of units?

Yes. Enter the dollars you invested and your buy price, and units are derived (invested ÷ buy price). Crypto units are fractional, so partial coins are fine.

Does this include taxes?

No. Profit here is pre-tax. In most jurisdictions crypto gains are taxable — use the Capital Gains Tax Calculator to estimate what you might owe.
