Effective
StockTools.ai is operated by Combo Ventures, LLC (Florida). We built this site to need as little of your data as possible, and this page describes what it actually collects rather than what we would like it to collect. It covers the website at stocktools.ai and the StockTools.ai app for Android, which opens this same website through your phone's browser, so everything below applies to both.
Using the site without an account
You can read everything here without signing in, and we do not require an account to use the research tools. When you are signed out, the numbers you enter into calculators and your "Analysis Memory" (the context that follows you between tools) are stored in your browser's localStorage only. Clearing your browser storage erases them.
Accounts, and what we store when you have one
Accounts are optional, and you can sign in with a magic link sent to your email address or with Google. If you sign in with Google we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google in order to identify your account; we do not receive your Google password.
When you are signed in, we store on our servers: your email address, your plan and its billing status, and the data you choose to save in the product. That includes trading journal entries and watchlists, which are stored in our database so they follow you between devices. Journal entries can contain free-text notes you write, so treat that field as something we hold rather than something that stays on your machine. We also keep ordinary server logs, and records of which alerts you have subscribed to and when we sent them.
We do not sell any of it, we do not publish it, and we do not use your journal or watchlist contents to build advertising profiles. You can delete your account and the data stored with it: the steps are on Delete your account.
AI features
Some tools write analysis with an AI model provided by Anthropic. What we send to Anthropic is public market information about the stock or filing being analysed, such as filings, prices and news. We do not send your email address, your journal, your watchlist or anything else from your account. To apply the daily limits we count how many AI analyses each account runs per day; when you are signed out, a cookie holding a random identifier does that counting for your browser.
Payments
Paid plans are processed by Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers. We store the identifiers Stripe gives us so we can tell which plan you are on. When you start a paid plan, we also record that you accepted the subscription terms: the date, the version of the terms, your IP address and your browser's user agent. Plans are not sold in the Android app.
We use Resend to deliver sign-in links, alerts, and any newsletter you have opted into, which means your email address is processed by Resend for that purpose. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not close your account or stop sign-in links.
Analytics and cookies
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service that does not track you across sites and does not collect personal data. We see aggregate counts (page views, which tools are used, how tools connect), never your calculator inputs. We set no advertising cookies and use no ad-tech trackers. If you sign in, we set a session cookie so the site knows who you are; that is a functional cookie, not a tracking one. The AI-limit cookie described above is functional in the same way.
The Android app
The StockTools.ai app for Android shows this website through your phone's browser (a Trusted Web Activity), with the same sign-in, cookies and settings. The app adds no advertising, analytics or tracking code of its own and asks for no permissions on your phone. A plan you already have applies in the app once you sign in.
Where your data is kept, and how it is protected
The site runs on Vercel, and account data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database at DigitalOcean. Everything between your browser and the site travels over HTTPS, and our servers connect to the database only over encrypted (TLS) connections. The session cookie is HttpOnly and Secure: scripts on a page cannot read it, and it is only sent over HTTPS.
How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your email address and everything stored with it. Two kinds of record outlast it: the record that you accepted the subscription terms, which we keep as evidence of that consent, and the payment records Stripe keeps under its own legal obligations. Our host keeps ordinary server logs for a limited time and then discards them. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter or an email alert, we keep the address marked as unsubscribed so it is never emailed again; write to us and we will delete it instead.
Children
This site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, write to us and we will delete the account and its data.
