Step by step
- 1Sign in at schwab.com and open the account you traded in.
- 2Go to History & Statements, then the Transactions tab.
- 3Set the date range to the period you want to journal.
- 4Click the Export link (top-right of the transaction table) and choose CSV.
- 5On StockTools, open the Journal, click Import CSV, and pick the file.
WHAT THE FILE LOOKS LIKE
Schwab exports one row per execution with Date, Action (Buy/Sell), Symbol, Quantity, Price, and Fees & Comm. The import pairs your buys and sells into closed trades automatically.
Broker menus move around; if a step has shifted, the Charles Schwab help center above has the current path. The import reconstructs round-trip trades from your fills and skips any position still open — a journal logs what you closed. This is a record-keeping tool, not trading advice.
