Relative indices
Each industry hub and each market-cap band as one daily index, rebased to 100 on the first session we hold. A value of 120 means the group’s members rose 20% on average since then, compounded session by session. These are relative figures: no company’s price level is shown, only how the group moved.
The indices have not been built yet. They are computed from the stored end-of-day bars after each complete session; until the first build there is nothing true to draw, so this page stays empty instead. Market breadth reads the same bars.
How these are built
Weighting. Equal weight. A session’s index return is the plain average of its members’ close-to-close returns, so a small member counts as much as the largest. Price returns only: dividends are not added back. Splits are adjusted; a spin-off or special distribution is not, and shows as that member’s drop on the day.
Membership. An industry’s members are the companies listed on its hub when each session is added. A size band’s members on a session are the companies whose market cap at the previous close (mega cap 200B USD and up, large cap 10B to 200B USD, mid cap 2B to 10B USD, small cap 300M to 2B USD, micro cap under 300M USD) placed them in it, using today’s share count from SEC filings, so no company is placed by a size it only reached later. The bands cover the companies we hold a filing snapshot for, not the whole market. A member counts on a session only when it has a close on that session and on the one before.
Revision policy. Values are appended once a session is complete and are never rewritten. A member added to a list counts from its first session with two closes after it was added; a delisted member stops counting on its first session without a close. Past values stay where they were in both cases.
Floor. A session with fewer than 3 members counted prints no value and its move is not counted; the next session continues from the last printed value. Each card counts those sessions. A group that never reaches the floor is withheld. See every floor on the site.
