Item 1. Legal Proceedings We and other participants in the healthcare industry are subject to legal proceedings, claims and litigation arising in the ordinary course of our business. Descriptions of certain legal proceedings to which we are a party are contained in Note 18, “Legal Proceedings” of the Notes to our Condensed Consolidated Financial Statements. From time to time, in the ordinary course of business and like others in our industry, we receive requests for information from government agencies in connection with their regulatory or investigational authority. These requests can include subpoenas or demand letters for documents to assist the government in audits or investigations. We review such requests and notices and take what we believe to be appropriate action. We have been subject to certain requests for information and investigations in the past and could be subject to such requests for information and investigations in the future.
