Market for the Registrant’s Common Equity, Related Stockholder Matters, and Issuer Purchases of Equity Securities.
The Company’s common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “SXT.” The number of shareholders of record of the Company’s common stock on February 9, 2023 was 1,990.
Since 1962, the Company has paid, without interruption, a quarterly cash dividend. During fiscal 2022, the Company paid aggregate cash dividends of $1.64 per share to our shareholders, and the Company most
recently declared a dividend of $0.41 per share payable on March 1, 2023 to shareholders of record on February 7, 2023. The timing, declaration, and payment of future dividends to holders of the Company’s common stock will depend upon many
factors, including the Company’s financial condition and results of operations, the capital requirements of the Company’s businesses, industry practice, and any other relevant factors.
On October 19, 2017, the Board of Directors authorized the repurchase of up to three million shares (2017 Authorization). As of December 31, 2022, 1,267,019 shares had been repurchased under the 2017
Authorization. There were no repurchases of shares by the Company during 2022. There is no expiration date for the 2017 Authorization. The 2017 Authorization may be modified, suspended, or discontinued by the Board of Directors at any time.
As of December 31, 2022, the maximum number of shares that may be purchased under publicly announced plans is 1,732,981.
