Item 1. LEGAL PROCEEDINGS
The Company is involved in litigation against Shure Incorporated (“Shure”) as further described in Part I, Item 3 of the Company’s Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2021 (the “Annual Report”), which information is incorporated herein by reference. The following recent developments amend and supplement the disclosure of the ongoing litigation proceedings against Shure as of September 30, 2022 as follows:
Shure, Incorporated v. ClearOne, Inc., 17-cv-3078 (N.D. of Illinois)
The Company filed a motion asking the Court to schedule a trial date, but the Court denied that request without prejudice on April 7, 2022.
On September 26, 2022, the Court granted the parties’ joint request to stay the proceedings to engage in settlement negotiations until November 22, 2022. The Court also terminated the pending motions without prejudice to be reinstated immediately if settlement negotiations are unsuccessful.
On October 3, 2022, the Executive Committee of the Northern District of Illinois reassigned this case from Judge Chang to Judge Maldonado to form the initial calendar of Judge Maldonado.

The Company filed a motion asking the Court to schedule a trial date, but the Court denied that request without prejudice on April 7, 2022.

On August 15, 2022, the Court granted the Company’s request to set a trial date on its counterclaims of unfair competition and tortious interference with business relations, scheduling trial for July 5, 2023. The Court also denied Shure’s motion to stay proceedings on ClearOne’s counterclaims.
